CBFM receives recognition for its contribution to energy efficiency in the UAE

Cofely Besix Facility Management (CBFM), has been one of the companies that was commended by the His Excellency Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, for its contribution to energy efficiency in the UAE. The company was awarded with a certificate for its valuable efforts and productive cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry during the 2017 Stakeholders meeting, held on Monday, 20th November 2017, at the Rosewood Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

“Obtaining the certificate involved participating in an active workshop throughout the year, as well as assisting the Ministry of Energy in mapping potential energy conservation measures (ECM’s) for typical buildings across the UAE,” explained Jameel Hussain, Lead Energy Auditor at CBFM. “Over the past year, we conducted various energy audits. We also defined the energy baselines and performed the regression analyses enabling us to understand the various buildings' behaviour and saving potential, as well as the proposal of a list of ECMs.”

The additional commendation was received following the earlier Energy Services Company (ESCO) accreditation from governing bodies). “Building solid relationships with governing bodies is important to us and enables CBFM to engage in mutually beneficial partnerships,” added Bart Holsters, Head of Energy, ESCO and Renewables at CBFM. He added, “We certainly have a shared interest in terms of lowering the UAE’s carbon footprint and engaging people and businesses to use their energy in more efficient ways. We are also very pleased that CBFM was selected to participate in such a high-level program, as it recognises our technical capability in the provision of energy services and energy performance contracting within the region.”
