Arabtec's Target wins $52m contract for Ellington tower homes in Dubai

Dubai Financial Market-listed Arabtec Holding’s subsidiary Target Engineering has been awarded a contract from Ellington Properties for the Wilton Park Residences project in the city’s Al Merkadh area. Worth $52.2m (AED192m), the contract’s scope includes construction, landscaping, irrigation, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services for the 12-floor residential twin-towers in Dubai.

Project work, due to commence immediately, will span a 24-month period. In a press statement, Arabtec said Target is also working on Ellington’s DT1 project in Downtown Dubai. The contractor was awarded DT1’s contract in July 2017. Commenting on the contract win, Arabtec’s acting group chief executive officer, Peter Pollard, said, “We are delighted that Ellington has had the confidence to award Target its second project, highlighting the importance of solid relationships and delivery.”

Pollard’s appointment was announced after Arabtec revealed earlier this month that Hamish Tyrwhitt had stepped down as its group CEO.
